My views today

It's another wonderful Sunday morning here in Arizona with wildfire burning all around us, but not TOO close. I ate enough smoke in my firefighting career and really don't want to do it in my retirement years, but what choice do I have? The wind is a Mother Nature thing. At this time, Arizona has about 12 fires being worked, mainly human caused, unfortunately. I will try to keep this pretty short, but don't get upset if I begin to ramble on somewhat. I do that often. As you all are aware, we are in middle of the third month of this COVID-19 Pandemic. And we all are pretty sick of it. We want to go to a movie, go to church in person, hug and kiss friends and family, that don't live with us. I want to go into stores without wearing a mask and not be afraid of sneezing or coughing. It is tough and we are tired of it, BUT WE HAVE TO KEEP IT UP. Some places opened up too soon and now are seeing a spike in cases. Bars opened way too soon and some churches. Get smart people. I am not afraid of getting sick myself, but I don't want to infect others. PLEASE, wear a mask if you go out into public. Next, I am sick of the racial problems we ALL are experiencing. People say to defund the Police or eliminate the Police. That is really stupid. We have many laws in the United States, and who will enforce them? We need the Police, but we need to re-train them and fire the bad apples. NOT ALL COPS ARE BAD!!! There are some bad ones who make the news and portray the entire law enforcement community as bad. Yes, Police department started from land owners hiring people to retrieve slaves that ran away from plantations and farms. Let us ALL transform that mentality by way of peaceful protests not radical ones. Burning stores, looting and shooting Police officers is not the right way. And to the Police, when you get so many report of police brutality by an officer is an indication of a bad officer or someone who really needs to be re-trained now or to be fired and prosecuted. ALL lives matter, no matter of what color, creed, nationality, or sexual orientation. We are ALL from the same race ... the human race. And finally, we are only a few months away from a presidential election, and I think we all know who the candidates will be. I really don't care what party is elected IF the person works to bring this country back to the caring, strong and peaceful country it was before 2016. Radical speeches, threats to countries, different nationalities living in the USA or trying to come to the USA, and blatantly lying about things you said recently, SHOULD NOT BE OUR PRESIDENT! I have dear friends who are gay, black, Mexican, and Chinese. I am embarrassed and angry when things are said slamming or actions taken against people of color or about nationalities because one people from them is bad. They are not ALL bad!! We DO NOT need a president who like that. I will not apologize for my views, but if you search your soul for the truth, you too will realize the present "Commander in Chief" (and I use that term loosely) is not the person we need in office. I also realize, the Democrats may not have the best candidate running either, but I feel he is better than the present. Everyone has their own views and I accept them as theirs and respect them. To me, there is an obvious change needed in November. I know this blog has seen a change since I started it several years ago. It was to be about our travels and photos of family and friends.
