The mid-term election is over (thank God) but the movement of the government is not. It never stops. Now the effort is to repair what was done to our democracy, and that will not be easy at all. Trump still has two years left in office. Eventho the Democrats control the House and Senate and many states, he still has his veto powers to contend with. And I don't believe he will not let anything ruin his legacy. His arch is temporarily stopped but the White House ballroom continues. I.C.E., Pete Hegseth and RFK are still here too, plus his family and his allies is powerful positions. We'll just have to see how determined the Democratic party is and what they can do. Our votes and voices did this. Now we, the citizens, have to keep our voices loud so legislatures hear our wishes for things like gas and food prices to come down, tariffs gone and certain people gone. Don't stop now!
What is going on will us? Well, after coming back from Panama and Costa Rica and celebrating my 80 birthday in a small native tribal village (which was awesome) we are now planning what to do for our 50 anniversary in April of 2027. Nancy wanted to take the whole family on an Alaskan cruise but found out you have to book those a year or more ahead. I suggested going to France and visiting Normandy, the Loire Valley (very scenic) and of course Paris for a couple of days., but mostly the countryside. Our plans are still up-in-the-air for now. Oh, and wine tasting too.
Nancy and Tina's planned hike down to Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon was cancelled due to all the rain and mudslides and fallen trees on the trail. The Park Service closed it. But we all will be going to Arkadelphia Arkansas and Henderson University for Cody's graduation in May 2027, and then maybe drive up to Springfield Missouri to see some cousins of mine. We do have a RV trip semi-planned to the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada sometime in the Spring with some friends. Never been there, should be beautiful.
I will be in the shop working on the 1942 Willys Jeep WW2 vintage I bought after returning from our trip in Central America.
Well that is it for now. Catch me next time, but until then, take care and stay safe.
